How can we keep N.I.C. discussion list fun for everyone...

  • 1. Keep your comments respectful of Nicolas and his family. After all, he is the reason we exist, we do not condone the spread of hurtful tabloid rumors. We do, however, allow tabloid photos, as they tend to be more accurate. If you have doubts about a tidbit you just found, send it to one of the staff members so that the moderating staff can mull it over before sending it to the group.

  • 2. Even though his house is on the Hollywood Star Tour, Nicolas's home address is not to be posted to the list in an effort to give him an inkling of privacy.

  • 3. Please keep your comments respectful of other members. By all means, have serious discussions. Just edit out any personal insults before sending. Remember Nicolas' golden rule: "It's ok to be different". Meeting people online from different cultures, religions, perspectives, and backgrounds makes our lives much richer. We can learn a lot from each other. Remember: "It is nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice." (Cage)

  • 4. "NNR" is used in the subject head when the topic is "not Nic related." This notifies members that they can simply delete the message and not miss any Nic-related discussion. "SNR" is used to mean "sorta Nic related." Please do not forward to the list chain letters or messages whose primary purpose is commercial.

    Q:  Who is/was HP Love?

A:  "HP first started posting to our old group "Toncas1" in January 2001. He was a sensitive soul, in need of comfort to get him through the traumas in his life at that time, it is hoped he found solace through TONCAS.

It is a widely held belief amongst many TONCAS members that HP was, in fact, Nicolas Cage. There were several clues in his postings, including some which it was felt no one else would know.

He left our fold on Sunday 21st January 2001 following discussions on the list as to his real identity, saying that he felt he could not be as open with us at that time as he wanted to be. He posted a couple of farewells after that date via our sister site, he also promised to return "home" to us at a later date.

If in deed it was Nicolas Cage, we hope he finds us at our new home, and await that return with baited breath.
Q:  Nic's Appearances in "Fast Times

A:  Most of Nic's role in "Fast Times" ended up on the proverbial "cutting room floor." I have read of two reasons for this, but I'm not sure if either is true: the director says he was too young to be working enough hours in the day to have more screen time (or to play Brad), and/or he was so good that he would have showed up the other, more established actors had his part been more prominent. Anyway, I caught a glimpse of him about four times in the movie. If you are looking for him, don't look for the person he is now. Look for a tall, thin, gawky 17-year-old with a large nose and lots of hair, and is incredibly cute.

He's the guy who slaps a sign onto someone's back in front of the school. He is one of the guys who walks up to Brad's car in the high school parking lot. He's one of the kids waiting in line in the gym to sign up for classes. He's one of the two guys flipping burgers at the joint where Brad is manager. He's is also shown cheering in the stands.
